Unix Developer, Bethesda, 85-90k

Position Description:

This position is for a technical team leader responsible for the ongoing development, maintenance and support of the legacy systems, within the Applications Development group.
Technical Qualifications:Experience working with:.ANSI C
Shell scripting
Unix, Linux, Windows
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Transact SQL experience and data transformation services.Microsoft technology (Office, Project, Visio, Live Meeting, etc.).Experience with the following is desirable, but not required:
Business Objects or other business intelligence software
Microsoft SQL Server Analysis ServicesFinancial applications (Peoplesoft).
Visual Basic / .Net
VBSCRIPTWindows Server and IIS

Essential Functions:

Direct and lead a team of developers and consultants.

Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the legacy applications.
Responsible for the development of project deliverables including: project plan, requirements document, design documents, test plan and test cases, among many others. Review and evaluate project status and report progress to management and project team through status reports and regularly scheduled meetings.Communicate with site users regarding any system enhancements and or scheduled upgrades and support related concerns.Analyze, review and alter systems, programs, and applications to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to new requirements.Develop documentation for user-audience as systems have been modified and/or new technologies have been implemented.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 3 years development experience.
Team management experience.Success Factors:

Great attention to detail.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, consistently meet deadlines.Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
