The software programmer position requires the incumbent to design new and support existing web applications. The incumbent will be working on a database development team and intermittently interfacing with the Training Department and clients. The software incumbent works under the general supervision of and reports to the Information/Knowledge Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze business processes in order to define application functional requirements and technical specifications.
Administer existing SQL 2005 databases
Support and enhance existing web .NET 2.0 applications
Design and develop new databases, web applications and windows applications as needed
Design and implement the transferring of data to other training data systems based on client requirements
Provide documentation on software needed for database administration, management, reports, etc.
Offer creative software solutions to OPS requirements
Assist IT Manager with hardware requirements for software implementations
BASIC/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience in systems analysis and application development, maintenance, support and lifecycle methodology Experience with Relational Database Design (MSSQL 2005) and XML Experience with the following: .NET (VB.NET or C#) and ASP.NET. 2.0
Experience with the deployment of web applications using IIS
Windows application development experience
Demonstrated ability to translate business users' needs into working systems that meet those needs and deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, AJAX and Crystal Reports/Business Objects are a plus.
Past experience with government contracts (Familiarity with Government requirements on information gathering)
